About

Each year, the Houston Golf Association conducts two Amateur Championships, the Greater Houston Men’s City Amateur and the Greater Houston Men’s Senior City Amateur. Prior to the championships, qualifiers are held to determine which amateurs will move on and play in each event. For the Greater Houston Men’s City Amateur, 144 players move on and will play 36 holes before a cut is made. The top 40 plus ties will move on to the third and fourth round (played on the same day). For full Greater Houston City Amateur information click here.

In the Senior division (ages 55+), 96 players move on to the tournament, including some in the Super Senior Division (ages 65+). Super Seniors will play a total of two rounds (36 holes), while the Senior division will be cut to the top 40 plus ties for the third and final round. For full Greater Houston Senior City Amateur information click here.
