The Houston Golf Association (HGA) uses golf promotion to generate funds for local charity. Since 1946 the HGA has brought high profile professional and amateur golf events to the Greater Houston Area. In addition to the Shell Houston Open PGA TOUR event (at Redstone Golf Club's Tournament Course), the HGA has helped secure:

Since 1974, the men and women who donate their time to serve as HGA members have generated more than $51.6 million for local youth-oriented charities through various golf-related activities. The HGA ensures that funds generated by the Shell Houston Open are put to work locally so that the proceeds of its PGA TOUR event directly impacts the local community.
