Tournament of Champions Final Results

This year's Tournament of Champions was held at Augusta Pines Golf Club Monday, August 13 to Tuesday August 14. The event was divided into four divisions (Boys/Girls 15-18, Boys/Girls 12-14) and split between qualifying Performance Series members and Junior Series members. The points structure for this event was inflated for each age division as players from both series competed for 2012 Players of the Year honors.

Augusta Pines had the greens running firm and fast over the two-day competition. PSE Boys 15-18 Champion Jake McCrory (74-71=145) was the only player to post a red number with a second round 71. Mario Carmona earned the division's Player of the Year finishing third.

The PSE Boys 12-14 division finished the same as the Player of the Year standings with Colin Mulligan (77-76=153) taking the victory with Bryce Dooley winning the score card playoff over Robert Hill.

In the PSE Girls 15-18 division it was Emma Ballard (77-72=149) who fired a second round 72 to earn the crown in comeback fashion. Heather Shake would take home the Player of the Year.

Ariana Saenz (77-76=153) made a run at Player of the Year winning the PSE Girls 12-14 division handily by five strokes. But Beryl Wang's points lead was just enough to ward off Saenz as she took Player of the Year.

On the Junior Series side Dean Aramburu was the only Boys 15-18 participant to break 80 on day one with a 77. His four shot lead proved to be plenty as he finished at 161, four shots clear of the field. Tyler D. Smith would finish third to earn Player of the Year.

Mihir Annaldasula (78-74=152) fired the low score of all Boys 12-14 winning the Junior Series division and the Player of the Year.

Arabella Cruz (92-81=173) saved the best for last, shooting 81 to turn a five-shot deficit into a nine-shot victory. Phoebe Browne took home the Player of the Year.

On the Girls 12-14 side, Tori Gatling won by the largest margin with scores of 81-79=160, 19 shots clear of Player of the Year Grace Cassity.

Emma Ballard (four performance stars), Ariana Saenz (1 JAS exemption) and Mihir Annaldasula (1 JAS exemption) all earned AJGA PBE from their strong finish.
