Arnett Wins HP Byron Nelson Junior Championship
June 22, 2012 -
2011 PSE Boys 16-18 Player of the Year and AJGA Champion Ben Arnett fired a final round 65 (-6) to take home the HP Byron Nelson Junior Championship.
One week after becoming the second HGA junior in as many years to win an AJGA event (Katharine Patrick won in Florida last year), Arnett added a HP Byron Nelson Junior Championship to his list of accolades.
Arnett earned an exemption to play in the tournament by winning Player of the Year honors last season in the elder boys PSE division. Also earning exemptions, thanks to the newly formed Texas Junior Golf Alliance partnership with the Legends Junior Tour were Week 1 PSE winner Mario Carmona and fellow 2011 All-HGA performer Zachary Bell.
Legends Junior Tour exemptions as well as AJGA PBE are still up for grabs as the HGA season advances this week at River Ridge. Twelve (12) walk-on spots are available for Boys 15-18 PSE members. Check in at registration before the first round, June 27, no later than 9am to enter the field.
